Ernesto Frodden
Ernesto was born in La Habana, Cuba, and grew up in Santiago, Chile. He studied a bachelor in physics at the Universidad de Chile and obtained a PhD at the Université Aix-Marseille, France, under the supervision of Alejandro Pérez. His thesis was carried out within the quantum gravity group of Luminy, where he studied black holes from both thermodynamic and quantum perspectives. His main research interest is the study of black hole properties and the various proposals for their quantum description. The final aim of this research is to get clues about the fine structure of spacetime. He is also interested in formal aspects regarding the action principle of general relativity and its connection with boundary theories, notably Chern-Simons.
