CECS wins the 2010 Icare Award Print
icare1The jury of the ICARE Award decided to distinguish this innovating experience that can even be regarded as iconoclastic, and has redefined the traditional model to structure science in Chile, establishing an independent way of making science and a particularly attractive way of living it, whilst placing Chile in the world map of Grand Science. The President of ICARE highlighted the contagious joy and enthusiasm of associated members of CECS, stating that they “have great fun in this endeavour”. During the award ceremony, held last Monday, August 30, at Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Parodi underscored the progress made by the three fields of research at CECS, making important contributions to world science. Claudio Bunster, CECS Director, who received the Award, expressed his gratitude and emphasized that CECS’ greatest achievement goes beyond science as such, having demonstrated that it is possible to do science in a free and independent manner.
