Summary : The neuron is the queen of cells. From its high cerebral throne, it exercises shining control over its subjects, the other 250 types of cells in our body. With large limbs, the neuron controls muscles, skin, intestine, kidneys and the immune system. The neuron informs us about the world and triggers our actions. But, together with the neuron, we find its sister, humble and rounded, slow to act, firstly ignored and then deliberately cast aside for 100 years. This discussion tells the story of this noble sister that now emerges as the power behind the throne.
